Short version: Pretty JSON & XML is free to use. It comes with no warranty. Don't sue us if something breaks. Don't paste data you're not allowed to view.

What this site is

Pretty JSON & XML is a free, browser-based viewer for JSON and XML data. It's a single HTML file with no backend. You can use it for any lawful purpose — personal projects, work, learning, debugging, anything. You don't need an account.

How you can use it

You can:

Use the site freely for personal or commercial work
Bookmark it, link to it, embed screenshots in articles or documentation
Use the JSON / XML output (formatted, minified) however you like — it's your data

You agree not to:

Use the site to view data you don't have the right to view (someone else's secrets, leaked credentials, etc.)
Scrape, mirror, or rehost the site without attribution
Attempt to abuse the hosting infrastructure (DDoS, brute force, etc.) — we're on Cloudflare which will block you anyway
Use the site to commit fraud, harassment, or any illegal activity

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" with no warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee:

That parsing or rendering will be perfect for every input (JSON and XML are big surface areas — edge cases exist)
That the site will be available 24/7 (Cloudflare is reliable but no service is 100%)
That features won't change or be removed
That the output is suitable for any particular purpose — always validate critical data yourself

If the viewer mangles a 9 MB file, misses a column, or shows a bug — please email and we'll try to fix it. But we can't be liable for any loss resulting from how you used the site.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the site. If you find that unsatisfying, the remedy is to stop using the site.

Privacy

See the Privacy Policy for what we do and don't collect. Short version: your data never leaves your browser.

Changes

If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
